An 8-mile circular walk from Merrington Green to Pim Hill.
The walk will start in Merrington Green, a small nature reserve twenty minutes north of Shrewsbury. From here we will head north east towards Pim Hill. Pim Hill is best described as a miniature Grinshill, with its winding woodland paths and tree-lined summit. Privately owned and therefore indistinct on maps, it is largely unknown. Permissive paths will allow us to explore the base of the hill before winding our way up to the summit. Although the summit is wooded, it nevertheless offers good views of the surrounding Shropshire countryside.
Having explored Pim Hill we will head south west towards the village of Bomere Heath, skirting around the edge of the village before pushing north west and entering Old Wood. This woodland path will take us back to our starting point of Merrington Green.
A packed lunch is recommended. There will be a short break in the morning and a lunch break midday.
Should people need to hydrate following the walk, there are a number of pubs in the area that we can descend on.
Shrewsbury and Telford car shares will likely be available, details of which will be shared nearer the time.
