We'll be walking to Winter Hill, the highest point on the West Pennine Moors. There should be fantastic views from here towards Wales and Manchester. Here's to hoping it's a clear, sunny day!
On the way to Winter Hill we'll walk along tracks up through Wilderswood towards a local hill known as the 'two lads'. No one knows for sure why it has this name, but there are various local legends. It has great views towards Rivington Pike, the mighty Bolton Wanderers stadium and Wales.
From Winter Hill, we'll wind our way back along some of my favourite paths, which weave their way through the Moors and past some active quarries.
There will be the option to visit a pub for a drink/food after the walk.
Book onto the walk via what's app or text.
The walk should be accessible via public transport. Get the train to Horwich and catch a taxi. Another option is a train to Bolton and the local 125 bus, which stops close to the start.
