We are the Wessex Wanderers Railway Walks. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

We start from Oldfield Park station walking along the Somerset and Dorset railway path up to and through the Devonshire tunnel, then walking down into Lyncombe Vale and climbing up to Alexander Park/Beechen Cliff, for fine views over Bath. We then descend to, and cross, the River Avon, before heading towards the old Somerset and Dorset Green Park station, returning along the River Avon footpath back to Oldfield Park station.
There is an option to shorten the walk and catch a return train from Bath Spa if wished.
Bring picnic lunch
Well behaved dogs on a lead welcome.

Most railway stations do not have toilet facilities, so it is advisable to use those facilities on the train if necessary before alighting.
Whilst the walks are risk assessed and may be changed at short notice if necessary, it is your responsibility to ensure your own personal health and safety, by wearing appropriate footwear and clothing, and bringing sufficient food and drink with you.
