A Moderate hill climb at a steady pace. The walk starts in Rhynie and heads south via the old coffin road to Badingair Hill. We then veer south west over Brux and Edinbanchory Hills, turning east to Lord Arthur’s Hill. The route then descends Fouchie Shank, along the track to Dubston and on to Tullynessle on the road. This is a linear walk. Meet at Tullynessle, drive the minimum number of cars on to Rhynie. Walk back to Tullynessle. Collect cars from Rhynie. Logistics should be clearer on the day.
Refreshments - possibly in Alford on the way home.
Booking is essential. Please contact the walk leader Jay using the contact details provided to book, or if you have any questions, by the Thursday evening prior to the walk. Please phone or text. If you leave a message please remember to leave your name and contact telephone number. Confirmation of your booking is required for attendance. It is essential for the walk leader to know who is coming on the walk and to be able to contact people should there be any changes. Please remember to contact the walk leader if you are no longer able to attend.
Due to potentially complicated logistics with cars for an A to B walk, we may limit the walk to Inverurie Ramblers.
Walking boots are very strongly advised. Waterproof jacket and overtrousers are an essential requirement for hill walks. Bring a suitable hat (for a very sunny, chilly or wet day), gloves, spare fleece / jumper. Walking poles and gaiters are optional. Bring a pack lunch / hill food and a flask for hot / cold drinks. There will be two stops.
Parking - Tullynessle near the church and the junction of the side turning to Terpersie and Dubston, and in Rhynie (location to be advised).
Toilets – There are no local public toilets. There are public toilets in the main car park in Alford.
