A circular walk from the Pass of Ballater with good views across Deeside and passing the ruins of the old Glen Bardy village. From the layby we walk down the Pass of Ballater road for about 1km then turn onto a landrover track leading up to the col between Creagan Riabhach and Craig of Prony. We follow the track north over the col and towards Peter’s Hill, before turning west to descend into Glan Bardy, passing the ruins of an old village. We then cross a stream and continue down through a wood then fields, over a small burn to Abergairn. From Abergairn we follow a track down to Craggan and back along its drive to the Pass of Ballater and the car park. The walk is on surfaced and unsurfaced hill tracks, with a short distance of road.

Please provide a contact telephone number. Confirmation of your booking is required for attendance. It is essential for the walk leader to know who is coming on the walk and to be able to contact people should there be any changes. Please remember to contact the walk leader if you are no longer able to attend.
Good boots are essential, as is warm and waterproof clothing. Gaiters and walking poles are up to individual preferences. Please bring lunch food and drink.
