C WALK DESCRIPTION: 7 miles. 860 ft ascent. A circular walk starting and finishing at Rowsley shopping outlet in the Peak District, Derbyshire. We head south gradually climbing to the ancient monument known as The 9 Ladies Stones where we will take a mid morning break. Most of the ascent has been done. We continue south on mainly flat moorland of Stanton Moor and the height gain gives us 360-degree views of surrounding countryside. Our route turns north at The Cork Stone through woodland heading towards Lees Road. We descend on a lane to the village of Stanton in Peak to the pub The Flying Childers. There is a slight backtrack to another lane with long views when we turn off through fields towards the river Derwent and back to Rowsley. Time permitting there is a pub next door to the car park and there are toilets, cafes in the shopping outlet.
