Rudding Park & Crimple Valley, Harrogate *** New Date ***

A circular walk on field paths and good tracks through pleasant countryside with fine views. We walk through woodland and follow the river Crimple to a disused viaduct, where we walk onto Rudding Park. There is a short section of road walking (care needed) up to Rudding Dower. We then walk beside Rudding Park golf course before crossing the main A658 road and then onto Follifoot where we will have a lunch break. From there we will walk on tracks to the old railway line before walking up to Follifoot Ridge and across fields where we get spectacular views of Crimple viaduct. We continue up the lane and re-trace our steps back to Hornbeam Park station. 

Meet at Hornbeam Park train station car park from 10.30am for a 10.45am start. It is a large free car park accessed from Hornbeam Park Avenue (if driving). Please avoid parking in the spaces for the hotel (marked). The meeting point is a 10/15 minute walk from the 36 bus stop on Leeds Road (Oatlands Corner).

Nearest toilets at M&S Food on Leeds Road (Oatlands Corner).

Walking boots recommended as likely to be muddy in places.
