The route will include part of the Teign estuary, close proximity to Bishopsteignton vineyard, where a Roman precursor once flourished, a footpath across Teignmouth Golf Course (designed by the man who subsequently planned the famous Augusta Golf Course in the USA), lane walking past Humber, where Red Rock Brewery is based and we will see a field used for refuelling by pre-Great War biplanes taking passengers from London to Cornwall. A woodland track through Happy Valley and some village walking past houses that were once belonged to some of Nelson's naval captains will enable us to refuel in a village pub if anyone so desires.
There will be short sections of back lanes, views to Portland Bill and Dartmoor and some woodland paths as well as field tracks. There is one right of way with a small number of stiles.
Moderate (one long climb to Teignmouth Golf Course).
If you would like to join this walk, please notify the leaders, preferably by email, so that they can inform you of any late changes to arrangements.
