Overview

This is a 5-mile circular walk. Sutton Park is a 2,400 acre National Nature Reserve, one of the largest urban parks in Europe and designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The park has heathland, woodlands, seven lakes, wetlands, and marshes, cattle and wild ponies graze on the land. Our walk will take us past five of the pools in the park.

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS: The walk will start at 10:30am at the Town Gate entrance in Park Road Sutton Coldfield B74 2YT. By public transport, the 09:46 train from Birmingham New Street station arrives at Sutton Coldfield at 10:06am. (check times before travelling). Meet at Sutton Coldfield train station at 10:10am to walk to Town Gate. There are also several buses X3, X4, X5, 907,110 from the city Centre which stop in Sutton Coldfield a few minutes’ walk from the park. By car: There is parking for those wishing to travel by car in the park.
