We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A slow, short circular walk, 2 miles, 2 hours from Piccadilly Station. We will walk via Umist buildings, Vimto Gardens, Archimedes and 2 giant magnets down London Road to where the River Medlock emerges from underground and meanders through Mayfield Park.
In the Park there is a mix of trees, wildflowers and some of the original steel beams have been used to form a bridge over some of the walkways.
The Park has take away food and drink and toilets.
There are some steps, uneven pavements and 2 busy main roads to cross, but they are lights controlled with pedestrian crossings.
