A 7-mile walk from Snailbeach, near Minsterley.
Flanked by the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve and Eastridge Woods, the walk has far-reaching views of the South Shropshire Hills, and incorporates a ridgeline ascent of Oak Hill.
Starting in Snailbeach, the walk will pass through the extensive remains of the Snaibeach Lead Mine, up towards Lordshill. From here we will head south-west towards Stiperstones village, before swinging east and taking the Mytton Dingle ridgeline ascent to the summit of Oak Hill. Please note, this section is relatively steep in places, with areas of loose footing, and some scrambling may be required. Having summited Oak Hill we will travel past the old miners cottages at Blakemoorgate, before descending towards Eastridge Woods. On reaching the woodland we will ascend towards Lordshill along a forestry track, before the final descent back into Snailbeach.
A packed lunch is recommended. There will be a short break in the morning and a lunch break midday.
Shrewsbury and Telford car shares will likely be available, details of which will be shared nearer the time.
