A pleasant circular walk exploring the Gorhambury Estate using some permissive paths. The walk starts from St Albans Abbey station and follows the River Ver trail through the Verulamium Park and continues along the Hertfordshire Way, past Gorhambury House before reaching the ruins of Old Gorhambury House previously owned by Sir Nicholas Bacon (father of Sir Francis Bacon). The walk continues to Potters Crouch and finishes at St. Albans Cathedral. Please bring picnic lunch and we will aim for a drinks stop at the Holly Bush in Potters Crouch.
