Overview

We set off across Pangbourne Meadow then the Thames takes a vast, majestic curve, which terminates at Mapledurham Lock. After the lock the path detours through new housing in Purley Park before rejoining the river a mile further downstream. We carry on through fields before we join Thames Side Promenade and the outskirts of Reading. Reading station is a short distance from the end of the walk. Bring a packed lunch and drink.
