Overview

12 miles Circular walk to the East and North East from Tring Park.
A lovely varied route. There will be hills and some muddy paths.
Starting from the new Tring Park car-park

We walk through the park to Wiggington, then cross the canal at Cow Roast, up Tom's Hill, Aldbury Common, and the quaint village of Aldbury where we will stop for lunch and I highly recommend taking the opportunity for a hot savoury bap or delicious cake and hot drink at Church Farm Cafe as we leave Aldbury.
After lunch and cafe stop, we will walk along the Ridgeway Path through the Aldbury Nowers nature reserve toward Pitstone Hill, before turning South West, crossing the main line railway by footbridge for a walk along the Grand Union Canal tow-path and we return to Tring Park via the Ridgeway path.
Well behaved dogs allowed.
All will be welcome to enjoy a well earned last group drink of the year afterwards at the Kings Arms in Tring.

Moderate, fairly brisk.

Starting from The Woodland Trust Tring Park carpark off Hastoe Road just uphill from the A41 over-head bridge.

We are not meeting in the Tring Museum carpark as the nearby new Woodlands Trust Tring Park free car-park has longer opening hours and Tring Park is more easily accessible from it. (If you are unfamiliar with it, referencing from the museum car-park in Hastoe Lane, please continue driving up Hastoe Lane, under the road-bridge and take the next turning on the left further up the hill).
