Description:
A cross-country walk on footpaths in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor, timed to watch the sun setting over Westcott. Rare evening views of the manor, Flint House, (the 2016 Grand Designs House of the Year), and another prize winning modern building at Windmill Hill where the Rothschild family archives are held. Add to that the lovely rural setting, super-quiet paths and roads, bats, owls, deer and other wild-life. Finally a visit at the end to the magical setting of the Five Arrows beautifully lit garden for a social drink afterwards.
As this location is just outside our normal Chilterns area, walkers from other groups are especially encouraged to join us.
Some gentle slopes, no stiles. 110M ascent. Walking shoes are sufficient unless after heavy rain. A torch may be useful toward the end.
Well behaved dogs are allowed.
