A linear estuary, headland and beach walk starting at Llanybri Church. A brief visit to Yr Hen Gapel in hilltop Llanybri, to be followed by a descent along a country lane with far-reaching views over the Taf estuary. A footpath from Mwche runs above the salt marshes to Pentowyn, once the site of a 120 acre grange granted to St John's Priory Carmarthen. A short steepish ascent on Laugharne Ferry Road takes us to the turning to Lord's Park Farm and the Wharley Point section of the Wales Coast Path. Glorious views, weather permitting (!) all the way to Scotts Bay. The walk concludes via beach or cliff path, tide permitting, to Llansteffan beach car park. Light refreshments chez Liz and Ian.
Heavy rainfall before may make the walk slippery in places. Please bring wet weather gear and walking poles. Well-behaved dogs ON LEADS may be accepted (please phone Liz to check/book). A few fields may contain livestock.
Please car share as much as possible as car parking at Llanybri church is very limited. A car shuttle will return drivers to Llanybri to collect cars.
