This section passes through many green spaces and ancient woodlands mostly on firm pavements and paths. Lots of interesting things to see along the way which follows initially the river Brent followed by Mutton brook. We will briefly leave the route and visit the central square of Hampstead Garden Suburb with its imposing St Jude's church. Here we can stop for picnic lunch, using benches in this pleasant square. Toilets are available only if church is open.
Returning to the Capital Ring route passing East Finchley station (a possible drop out) from where we enter Cherry Tree wood, followed by Highgate wood and finally Queen's wood all remnants of the ancient forests of Middlesex. The walk finishes at Highgate Northern line station.
