The walk follows the River Itchen and the villages known as the Worthy's . We set off from the Recreation Car Park in Kings Worthy and head off in the direction of Cobbs Farm Shop and the watercress beds . We then walk to Kings Worthy Church and from here we set off following river pathways, meadows and bridges to Easton. It is from Easton that we follow the River Itchen , heading to Chilland Cottages and the disused Railways paths towards Itchen Abbas and lunch. The afternoon follows the Itchen way via Martyr Worthy returning to Kings Worthy . In total it is approximately 9 miles. Start time is 10.00 am
The walk is largely on the flat. It includes pathways, tracks, roads and open fields . It can be muddy in places due to recent weather and low lying terrain , so walking poles for balance are advised.
This is a picnic walk with a morning break for refreshment at 11.00
Please contact the leader as we may leave early if all expected are present.
