Overview

The walk ascends on paths to Magdalen Down where good views should be had.  A short stroll on a quiet country lane takes us to farmland where we will pause for BYO refreshments.  We will then walk back to Winchester along the Itchen Valley with a BYO picnic lunch stop along the way.

There will be some muddy parts so sturdy boots are important and given the time of year plenty of layers including waterproofs are important so as to keep warm and dry.  Jeans are not a good idea as if wet these get heavy, cold and chafing.
