We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

This circular walk initially follows the River Itchen and its tributaries into historic Winchester, through the beautiful villages of Martyr Worthy and Kings Worthy. It then progresses into Winchester, skirting the edge of the City, moving uphill towards St. Giles Hill.
From there, the route follows the footpath across Magdalen Hill Down, providing some magnificent views of the local landscape. The walk returns to Itchen Abbas, along quiet country lanes and field paths to Avington.
Please park on the lane outside Itchen Abbas Parish Church, or at the Community Centre on the main road.
