The walk follows the River Itchen and the villages known as the Worthys. We set off from the Recreation Car Park in Kings Worthy and head off in the direction of Cobbs Farm Shop and the Watercress beds . We then walk to Kings Worthy Church and from here we set off following river pathways, meadows and bridges to Easton. It is from Easton that we follow the River Itchen , heading to Chilland Cottages and the disused Railways paths towards Itchen Abbas and lunch. The afternoon follows the Itchen way via Martyr Worthy returning to Kings Worthy . In total it is approximately 9 miles. Start time is 10.00 am
The walk is largely on the flat. It includes pathways, tracks, roads and open fields . It can be muddy in places due to recent weather and low lying terrain, so walking poles for balance are advised.
This is a picnic walk with a morning break for refreshment at 11.00
