A Bank Holiday walk across the border into Wiltshire. We climb the ridge south of West Dean then walk along to Pepperpot Hill for our coffee stop with views towards Salisbury cathedral. We then descend the ridge towards East Grimstead, before heading back eastwards through mainly wooded territory, back into Hampshire and West Dean.
There's a long, steepish climb on a quiet road at the beginning and a descent on a chalky track. There are a number of stiles along the way.
Bring a picnic lunch, drinks and snacks as required.
There is limited parking on the west side of the stream and there is parking for £3 (I think) at the King George Hall at the other side of the level crossing.
There is quite a good public transport option to Dean - right by the start of the walk, £9.95 off-peak day return with railcard.
