This is a well known circular walk covering an area to the South of West Meon, heading initially to Warnford, then via Beacon Hill to Exton, before ascending Old Winchester Hill and returning via Peake Farm. There are some very scenic viewpoints across the Meon valley. The walk includes several long steady inclines and a few steep sections (both uphill and downhill). But the reward is the scenery along the route. We have to walk along quiet roads in some places. There are 5 stiles and a number of places which are likely to be muddy unless it hasn’t rained for a while. It would be therefore be appropriate to bring poles if you use them. The walk is not suitable for dogs.
This is a picnic walk and please bring plenty to drink. There are no facilities on route.
We meet at the Meon Valley Trail car park off Station road in West Meon (postcode GU32 1JQ). There is usually plenty of parking space but it would be good to car share where possible. Please either arrange directly or let me know your location and I will try to connect people together
