Overview

Circular walk from The Bell Inn, St Cross going somewhere in the local area, which covers St Catherines Hill, St Giles Hill, The Water Meadows, Winnall Moor, White Shute Ridge, Hockley Down, Twyford Lock, Compton and beyond. Moderate pace for 5 miles. Leisurely pace for 3 miles. A modest hill at 5 miles is likely unless it's wet. If it's wet we mostly avoid slippy areas and the mud. Come and try us out!

There is usually an option fror lunch or a drink afterwards. On Dec 12th, though, the Tuesday Group has its Christmas Lunch which needed pre-ordering. The pub may not be able to include anyone else. Finish at 12.30. If you are not using the pub, there is 2 hour parking in Mead Road, on the other side of St Cross Road. You should be back within that time. A bus pass is useful on rare occasions.

The Blue Star No. 1 bus to Southampton, every 20 minutes from Winchester bus station or Chandlers Ford, stops at The Bell.
