We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Walking a gentle 6 miles from the Village Hall bus stop in Itchen Abbas, along the Itchen and St Swithun's Ways to Winchester Cathedral. This is mostly a countryside off-road walk, but we will follow the lane through Easton village.
This linear walk ends in Winchester - Walkers can either take the bus to the start of the walk, or return by bus to Itchen Abbas at the end of the walk.
Bring a drink and a snack for our coffee break, but please note there are no toilet facilities on this route and refreshments are not available until we reach the end of the walk in Winchester.
There are two low stiles on this route, no hills, and the paths are currently mud-free although there are some nettles towards the end.
You can reach the start of the walk at Itchen Abbas Village Hall by #67 bus from Winchester.
The bus to the start leaves Winchester bus station at 10.20am, arriving 10.40am at the walk start. Return buses to Itchen Abbas leave Winchester at 1.20pm and 3pm. Bus fares remain capped at £2 until the end of October.
No lunch arrangements have been made for this walk, so there is no limit on numbers.
