We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a fairly easy 9 mile walk across heath and woodland in the New Forest. Starting at Deerleap car park, we head to Matley Wood, then up towards Woodlands. The morning walk is about 5.5 miles before lunch at the Happy Cheese Pub or a picnic nearby.
The afternoon takes us through some woodland and then back across the heathland to arrive back at Deerleap after about 3.5 miles.
There is only one stile and the walk is fairly flat with minimal mud, especially if this dry weather continues. There will be the usual coffee stop after about an hour. If you wish to eat at the pub, please let me have your menu choices by 5pm Wednesday 9th.
