We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We plan to lead a 9 mile walk from Wilverley Plain Car Park near Brockenhurst, starting at 10.00H, and walking to the Foresters Arms Pub in Brockenhurst for lunch.
Please park at the Wilverley Plain car park (off the B3058 between Burley and Brockenhurst). We suggest you allow a good hour to travel from Winchester.
We shall walk through grassy plains and on tracks down to Brockenhurst. When we did the pre walk today it was very wet and we had to make a few diversions. We suggest you wear your strongest boots! The views on a fine day will be glorious and the walk is not a difficult one but there will be some small streams to cross.
The walk will be 9 miles, 4 1/2 in the morning and 4 1/2 back in the afternoon.
The Foresters Arms just need to know numbers, they do not need a pre-order unless we have a very big group. They have a selection of baguettes and normal pub meals which you can look up on their website.
If anyone wishes to picnic there is a war memorial garden very near the pub with two benches.
