Toilets are available at both Staunton Harold and Calke
The walk is well behaved dog friendly
Staunton Harold Hall, a Georgian mansion, and the chapel of the Holy Trinity complete with the serene lake and manicured lawns make this a spectacular place to view. A visit to the Ferrers Centre for Arts and Crafts with cafes is well worth a visit after the walk.
Calke Abbey has been in existence since the 12th century and has had a chequered history ever since the Dissolution of the monasteries by Henry the Eighth. It has survived and offers miles of woodland and countryside walking.
