Please note, the intended train out at 09.31 will not be running so we will take the next available train at 10.45. The walk will now be a Hathersage circular.

The walk will start at Hathersage station after the arrival of the 10.45 from Manchester Piccadilly due at 11.44.

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.

Train ticket - return to Hathersage (if you have a GM concessionary travel card this can be bought from Strines).

Car parking available at Hathersage station, £2 per day, or on roads beside or opposite the station.

Walk route - Nether Hall, Thorpe Farm, Sickleholme Golf Club, Bamford Station, Wheat Hey Farm, Shatton Lane, Abney Moor, Offerton Hall, Callow Farm, Leadmill Bridge. There are a couple of steep climbs, one out of Hathersage, then up Shatton Lane. 1850 ft ascent in total, highest point 1350 ft.

Expected time into Hathersage - no later than 16.25 to catch the 16.32 return train to Manchester. There is a two hour gap till the next train so we will need to maintain a steady pace to ensure that walkers can catch this train.
