We'll start in the car park at White Horse Country Park near Detling. Then make our way via Thurnham Castle towards Detling village. Crossing over the A249 we'll walk through the pretty little village of Boxley and out through the vinyards, there will be a steep muddy climb through the woods to the ridge then we'll walk across the fields and down to Detling again. Finally we'll retrace some of our initial route back to the car park. The Cock Horse Inn at Detling is a nice pub for drinks/lunch after but we might have to car share to and from the pub as there's not much parking near the pub.
The car park is £1.50/£2 for the day using cash or Park Buddy, PaybyPhone or Ringo. There are no toilet or cafe facilities at the start of this walk. This walk includes a steep climb through woodland and a steep walk back down off the ridge. Both might be muddy.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending.
