This is a walk from Buckden back to Kettlewell. From the car park at Buckden we shall ascend to Buckden Pike summit (702m) There are excellent views of the Yorkshire peaks and Lake District on a clear day. Then we will follow the summit line before descending to Starbottom on the Walden Road path. Return to Kettlewell on the Dales way by the river.
The ascent is gradual on good paths and tracks. It steepens towards the summit. The descent has 2 steep sections but on clear paths. There is some wet or boggy ground at higher levels. Refreshments available in Kettlewell before our return to York.
