From Chaworth Road, we head towards Colwick Park via several roads. There is a crossing of the busy Colwick Loop road with crossing lights. On the right you will see the aptly named Ramblers Close. Soon after, we enter the tranquillity of Colwick Park. There is a chance to see a variety of birds as we traverse the park, including geese, herons etc. After the park, we pass the Nottingham Racecourse and Colwick Hall Hotel. After crossing the Loop road once again, we join the Sneinton Greenway. This is a path along the route of a disused railway. A short road section follows as we pass near to the BBC Centre. Our last section is along the towpath of the Nottingham Canal to Trent Bridge.
This walk is part of my Flat 5 Series, where all the walks are about 5 miles and are mainly level. The walk is 5.1 miles, a total ascent of 64 ft and has no stiles. There is some road walking but it is mainly along tracks, paths and canal towpaths.
There is no need to book onto this walk, just turn up and join us.
We will stop for drinks during the walk.
Public transport: bus No. 44 from Nottingham City to the start on Chaworth Road. From the finish point, a great variety of buses service the City and parts of Rushcliffe.
If you are travelling by car, street parking is available near Chaworth Road (but remember you will need to catch the bus back as this is a linear walk).
At the end of the walk, there is the option of joining us for a drink or meal at the Trent Bridge Inn (no need to book).
