We are the Broxtowe Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The morning walk starts gently along the Cromford Canal to the High Peak Junction before ascending through Bow Wood and along Hearthstone Lane to Riber Castle. A steep descent on good flagstones and steps takes us into Matlock for lunch. The café in Hall Leys Park is well recommended. Alternative venues available in Matlock.
The afternoon starts alongside the river Derwent before crossing a footbridge and the A6 to climb (quite steeply) along narrow roads below the Heights of Abraham to Upperwood. The path then descends back to Cromford and returns to the car park.
