8.5 miles moderate walk (around 1000ft of ascent) starting at Daisy Nook Country Park (SD 921006) where toilets and café 10am. Bring packed lunch
Route
Park Bridge, Rother Valley, Hartshead Pike, old railway line and return above Daisy Nook.
The first part of this walk follows the old canals to Park Bridge and has many interesting interpretation boards concerning the industrial past of the area including the village. One steepish climb to Hartshead Pike.
To get there follow signs to Ashton and Ikea the Oldham from Ikea. (A627). After about .6mile at traffic lights turn left onto Newmarket Road signed Daisy Nook. The Country park is about 1 mile down the road – turn right into car park.
