This easy/moderate 8.5 mile walk starts at Sparklow car park ( Hurdlow) SK127659. SK11 9QJ.
About 1,000 ft of ascent. There is a £4.50 charge for this car park. Although it is a fairly easy walk there are some lovely views, especially of Chrome Hill and Parkhouse. We walk firstly along the High Peak Trail eventually branching over fields and eventually arriving at Pilsbury Castle ( a Norman motte and Bailey castle). We then walk along the valley to the village of Crowdecote and just before we reach the village of Earl Sterndale we skirt High Wheeldon and back through Hurdlow town and along the High Peak Trail to the car park.
