Start: 10am from Hartington Market Place. Free parking is normally available at the market place. Alternatively, pay parking is at Hartington CP (53.1393N 1.8112W, on the road to Warslow): £6.20 for the day, accepts cash or Pay-by-Phone, but not cards. Public toilets available near start of walk.
From Hartington, we go towards Morson Wood, then Beresford Dale and Wolfscote Dale until Coldeaton Bridge. A gentle ascent up a side dale to Lees Barn, then join the Tissington Trail until we come off towards Greenhead and Dalehead, from where we descend down a dale into Biggin Dale and walk towards Dale end. Then we follow Highfield Lane back to Hartington (for tea and cakes, perhaps ... it is my birthday.) Around 9.4 miles and 1420 ft ascent according to OS Maps, mostly easy to moderate.
Bring packed lunch. Sorry no dogs.
