Metro / Bus based walk

Leader: Phil Machen (meeting at walk start)

Meet Point: On the concourse near the Metrolink station at Manchester Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Crumpsall station.

Transport to Walk Start: Any Metro to get you to the walk start at 12:00

Suggested Ticket: Zone 1&2 metrolink ticket £2.80

Walk Start: Crumpsall Metrlink station at 12:00pm

Waypoints:  Alkrington hall, Archer park, The Parish church built 1412, Lowry steps, Samuel Bamford memorial and grave, Elizabethan school, Old Boars head

Return Services: Bus from walk end to either Crumpsall Metrolink or Manchester

Extra: There are no toilets at the walk start. There are toilets in Middleton. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

We will walk along the Irk valley to Middleton via Bowker vale Blackley Forrest and Alkrington woods

We will then use the official tour guide notes to walk the heritage trail. To include all of the above waypoints.
