Overview

Starting at Yarnbury, we walk to Mossdale Scar and then up to Sandy Gate and onto Riggs Moor supposedly the most remote place in England. The next mile can be challenging as the path is more visible on the map than on the ground but the direction ahead is always clear. At How Stean Gill at about 12 miles there is a chance to take a break with a cup of tea or coffee at the café, before we continue along the Nidderdale Way to Ramsgill and then along the length of Gouthwaite Reservoir to Pateley Bridge. This walk is rated as strenuous due to the length rather than the terrain.

Start 8 am from Pateley Bridge, expected finish 5pm

We have booked a minibus to transport us from the Nidd Walk Long Stay Car Park in Pateley Bridge to the start point at Yarnbury. The minibus seats 15 and expected cost is around £5. Please contact me ( Helen the walk leader )  to reserve a space. We will meet at 7.45 for the minibus to leave at 8.00. Alternatively if you wish to make your own arrangements we would expect to leave Yarnbury at around 8.30, please let me know if you will be meeting us at Yarnbury
