From Hebden Bridge Railway Station we walk through the park , over the canal and up through the pedestrianised town centre. Out of town heading north on footpaths and bridleways by the river passing Midgehole (possible coffee stop) up to New Bridge. We then follow the riverside walk through Hebden Dale to Gibson Mill and a view point Hardcastle Crag. We will stop for a picnic lunch at the Gibson Mill picnic area. There is a cafe and toilets.
Return starts with a fairly steep climb up through Hebden Wood joining the Calderdale Way through Eaves Wood. We turn through the picturesque village of Heptonstall returning downhill all the way to the Old Bridge in the centre of Hebden Bridge.

Car Park pay and display at the station and in the town.
Parts of the walk ar along rough and at times rocky paths which in wet weather will be slippy. A walking pole is advised.
