From Addingham we head down to the river cross the bridge and head up to Black Foss Farm.A short road walk then takes us to the base of Beamsley Beacon which we then climb. Once at the top we head over the moor to Little Gate Cairn where we will stop for a lunch break. From here we drop down to Moor End Farm then a short road walk before we turn off and head back down into Addingham. Refreshments will be at the Fleece P.H. after the walk.
We have a steady uphill climb after crossing the river until we reach the top of the Beacon but the views from the top are well worth the effort. Once at the top the walk is mainly flat over the moor and then downhill back into Addingham. There are some short sections of road walking with a few stiles to cross and a possibility that we may encounter cattle in some of the fields at low level.
