Inspired by a recent train journey on this route, this is an equally indirect way to get from London Bridge to Victoria. This time we will also add in Waterloo en-route for good measure. We start by the organ in the main concourse of the main line station and head via Guys Hospital and secluded squares and gardens to Elephant & Castle, The Imperial War Museum and on back streets to Waterloo where we can take an early lunch.
Walkers who want a short morning walk are welcome to leave here or at the many other opportunities to take public transport along the way. After lunch we will find some lesser known points of interest between Waterloo and Vauxhall, before heading up river to Battersea Power Station and finally across into Belgravia before our final stop, Victoria Station.
The walk will be at a brisk/medium pace but with frequent stopping points, all on pavements, and is suitable for any pre-Xmas weather.
Please bring a packed lunch with you or collect something at any of the food outlets at Waterloo, where we can find somewhere to rest in the concourse.
Make your way to London Bridge which is on the Northern and Jubilee Underground (Zone 1) and mainline station.
No booking required.
There are toilets at our departure, arrival and lunch points.
The finishing time is an estimate only for the full route, and depends on progress on the day. In the event of bad weather, the route may be adapted or shortened.
