Malham Cove, Malham Tarn and Janet's Foss

A walk around the dales village of Malham, taking in some of the most iconic sights of the Yorkshire dales. Our route will include the famous rocky outcrop of Malham Cove, the beautiful scenery around Malham Tarn and the waterfall known as Janet's Foss. We will stop in one of Malham's cosy British locals afterwards for well earned refreshments.

The dales at its very best, not to be missed.

The start point of the walk is the Buck Inn in the middle of Malham village. Look out for me in a backpack and high vis vest.

The walk distance is between 8 -9 miles and has an ascent of 300 - 350m. Some steep climbs at the start can be expected, but its fairly flat for most of the 2nd half.

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but a lead is required due to the presence of livestock along the route. No exceptions.

Toilet facilities are at the visitors centre in Malham, and we will do a stop there before the walk starts.

For those arriving by car, there is a car park in the middle of Malham village, with an overspill car park further south of the village. £7 parking all day.

For those arriving by public transport, your best option is to:

1. Get the 08:25 am train service from Leeds to Skipton, arriving in Skipton train station at 09:09am.

2. Hop on the 09:48am Dales 75 bus at Skipton train station, that will arrive at the start point at 10:30am.

3. There is a return service back to Skipton train station at 4:30pm after the walk. More info here:
