Meet at 9:50 for a 10am start. Starting from Standedge Car Park - Access via a cobbled lane directly opposite The Railway Pub at the top of station road. Street parking is also available.
Starting from Marsden we follow part of the Kirklees Way past Butterley and Blakeley Reservoirs and then join the Pennine Way through some great scenic valleys and moorland. Then we head along one side of Pule Hill to reach one of the famous Stanza Stones. Poet Simon Armitage wrote 6 poems on a theme of water in all its forms to be carved into rocks at various locations from Marsden to Ilkley and the snow we will visit is called Snow.
We then head up to a high points at Millstone Edge and Little Moss before heading down Willmer Green Clough. We then trundle back down towards Marsden going past the entrance to the famous Standedge Tunnel which is the longest canal tunnel in Britain.
Please bring walking boots, waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and plently to drink.
