Overview

A fairly level walk from Meonstoke along the route of the former Meon Valley Railway, passing the site of Winston Churchill's meeting in June 1944 with US President Dwight Eisenhower, French leader Charles de Gaulle, the Canadian President William Lyon McKenzie King and the South African leader Jan Smuts.

The walk returns across fields via Droxford, where an optional coffee stop will be available.

The Bucks Head Public House will be open for pre-ordering lunch at 1000, and the walk will start promptly at 1015. Please note that there will be a maximum number of 20 places available on the walk, and due to limited car parking, sharing of transport is encouraged. It is essential to register for the walk with the walk leader, at the latest by 1700 on Wednesday 24th July.
