You will start from Polegate and walk to Folkington. You pass churches in Folkington and Jevington, then head back past the Lullington Heath National Nature Reserve, and beside the Cuckmere River into Alfriston. Alfriston is where the National Trust acquired its first property, The Clergy House, in 1896. The clockwise down land circuit passes below The Long Man of Wilmington who is cut into the grassland and 235 feet tall. We then walk back to Polegate.
Please bring a packed lunch as we will not be having a long lunch break.
