Overview

7 miles moderate walking.

Meet at the bottom of Churchfields, Rochester. There is free parking in Hathaway Court and along the bottom of Churchfields on The Esplanade. Paid parking further up The Esplanade.

We will walk through historic Rochester, passing The Cathedral and The Castle, over the bridge and head towards Frindsbury then Upnor. Passing Upnor Castle and reaching a world war two gun bunker before returning along roughly the same route.

There are only a couple of short steep hills, most of the walk is semi-urban with views of the river. A couple of major roads to cross so please keep dogs on leads for these parts of the walk.
