Overview

A walk starting at the rail station in St Margarets, heading along the High Street in Stanstead Abbotts then proceeding through the open wheat fields and countryside of East Hertfordshire into the Ash Valley and passing through the Amwell Nature Reserve before walking back along the Lea Navigation to St Margarets.

Please bring a packed lunch as there will not be an opportunity to buy refreshments during the walk.

There will be an opportunity to visit The Jolly Fisherman pub at the end of the walk.

Travel:

Take the 09.12am from London Liverpool Street (09:26 Tottenham Hale) arriving at St Margarets at 09.52am. There are two trains an hour back to Liverpool Street. Buy a return ticket to St Margarets.

Walking boots are advised as it is likely to be muddy underfoot.
