This walk is in the Meon Valley with the expectation of snowdrops in profusion in Warnford churchyard.
The walk will start from West Meon station car park (post code GU32 1JQ, map reference SU643236) at 10 am. The route is via the disused railway and minor road to Warnford, then a short distance along the busy main road to Warnford church for snowdrops and coffee ( bring your own). Anyone wishing to leave the walk here could retrace their steps to the car and, perhaps meet the group at the Shoe, Exton for lunch.
From Warnford, there is a steepish climb to Beacon Hill for fine views across the valley to Old Winchester Hill, then a descent to Exton for lunch . Those wishing to picnic can sit in the churchyard.
The return is by quiet lanes and the disused railway.
Please let me have your menu choice if lunching in The Shoe by 12 noon on Tuesday.
Please bring walking poles if you use them as the descent to Exton on the pre-walk was slippery, and there has been a great deal more rain since then!!
