From Braithwaite we head to Thornthwaite via a good track. Here we begin our ascent, via Comb Beck, up into Whinlatter Forest. We then ascend gradually through the trees, on good forest paths, heading for Barf. Once onto open fell the ascent is a little steeper to the summit of Barf, then onto Lords Seat, each fell offering great views. We then begin to descend towards Whinlatter Visitors Centre, again through the trees on good paths. After a brief stop at the centre we will cross the B5292 back into the forest. Following a pretty path we wend our way through the forest descending back into Braithwaite.
This walk includes two Wainwrights, Barf & Lords Seat. The walk will be done at a moderate pace.
