We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Meet at York Station for the 9.54 number 13 bus to the Folk Hall for the first First Friday walk of 2025. This will be a winter flower walk from New Earswick Folk Hall to enjoy green spaces near the Foss and Ouse rivers.
We'll spot snowdrops around All Saints Church in Huntington, hellebores in Homestead Park and Museum Gardens and possibly others in between. Muddy in places, so exact route will depend on what the weather brings.
To reach the start, other buses are available from Exhibition Square, the latest option being the number 1 at 10 am, due to reach the Folk Hall at 10.11 am.
Meet in good time for the 13 bus scheduled to leave York Station at 9.54, via Stonebow at 10.04, to arrive at the Folk Hall at 10.14.
Toilets available at the Folk Hall, and we'll aim to set off by 10.20.
Water levels permitting, we'll finish the walk along the riverside path.
